Compendium of Curiosities 3, Challenge #31!

Wow, it has been forever since I've been able to publish a new post.  Thanks to Linda for continuing the Compendium of Curiosities.  An amazing way to work through Tim Holtz's book Compendium of Curiosities 3.  The Challenge this time was to use the Paint Resist Technique.  The specifics can be found on page 47.  I have used many resist techniques before, but not paint.  It was quite fun.  I inked up 4 pieces of manila card stock and only one made it through to the end.  I really wanted to add one Tim's Crazy Birds, but it did not work.   A random heart sitting on my desk made it on.  The heart was painted with the Ken Oliver Color Burst paint powders.  (They are really fun and can be found on The Funkie Junkie Boutique.

Many of the supplies (stencil, paint, ink, stamps and paper can be found on the Inspiration Emporium Web site.

The heart was colored with Ken Oliver Color Burst paint and then covered with glossy accents.  The chain and sentiment are Wendi Vecchi/Studio 490 by Stampers Anonymous.  Bricks and Flowers were Tim's Stencils.

  5. Hello again! I just got my color bursts and have not played yet. But I watched a couple of you tube videos and it looks like you barely squeeze the bottle...more like little puffs of air because the powder is so concentrated. Hey, thank you for the really sweet compliments you left on my blog!!!
