Compendium of Curiosities 3, Challenge 6

Thanks to Linda Ledbetter, we are off on another challenge -Challenge 6 introduces Tim’s Altered Burlap Panel Technique, which you’ll find on page 37 of A Compendium of Curiosities, Vol. #3 (a.k.a “CC3″).   I was originally going to do a trip tic  using one 5x7 panel and two 3x5 panels but I ran out of time as I am packing for a 4 day camping trip and really don't know if I will get home in time to post on Friday.  So…it got scaled down.  Part of this was inspired by an old card by Tammy Tutterow.  The rest was a chance to use my halloween stash!!  There are a few changes I'd wish I had time to do, like use a bunch of the labels from Tim's "poisonous" stamp set.  I really liked the way the label from the apothecary set came out.  As you can see I used the panel as a shadow box and "hung" the window.

The Trees were made using the bird on the branch die.  I just cut off the bird and turned them upright!  The were stained and embossed with distress embossing powder.  The cat and "hanging iron" were colored with black crackle paint.  and the window pane with rock candy crackle paint.

In order to get the label to fit on the bottle, I used "shrink dink" paper!!!  I would like to redo the "cork" but ran out of time.

I stamped this with Wendy Vecchi new adirondack inks ( dandelion and watering can) on specialty stamping paper by Ranger, and then used her new fun technique where you put a drop of ink on your mat and add alcohol  then swipe the paper through it.  I thought it came out great.

Thanks for visiting!  And a special thanks to Linda Coughlin- sponsor  of this Challenge 6, and the incredible, fabulous awesome owner of The Funkie Junkie.  She is GREAT to work with.  I love doing business with her!
