CAS Christmas : Critters!!

I was so busy with CAS Mix Up this month that I almost didn't make the Christmas Critter deadline at CAS Christmas hosted by Barb! These old Penny Black birds are forever my favorites, (I hope they are considered "critters"). I combined them with a die from Alexandra Renke, a little glitter paper, copics, a sparkly gel pen and my new favorite sizzix embossing folder. Super easy, except for trying to decide what color to do the hats --as you can see I went ...with classic red!! Oh yeah, I used a chunky white embossing powder on the hats! used my versa mark pen. Wishing everyone at fabulous holiday season and a Healthy, Happy New Year! --filled with lots of "art time!!" Thanks for looking!

CAS Emboss Resist

So Glad CAS is back up and running! I've missed you all. Hope all is well. Emboss resist is one of my favorites. Thank you Nancy for the inspiration! I tried a "newish to me" technique where I literally "painted" with my Magicals. I loved the result. You may not be able to see the shine in the photos, but it was really beautiful. This is a background stamp from SSS called "All Leaves" It is so much fun to paint!! I like painting "outside the line" so that I have coordinating "paper" to add accents! Like the steam and tea bags... I know I've used this mug before, but I just had too!! :) Here's a close up of the shiny mug... That blue shine in the green is called "Bells of Ireland". I think it may be my favorite!! Again, so glad to have you all back. Thanks for looking! and always appreciate your comments! :)

Mono Printing with Stencils: CAS Mix Up November Challenge

Well I finally got the other 2 prints off my table and into a card. An addicting challenge by Loll and her inspiring artists over on CAS Mix Up . I love making one of a kind things and mono printing results in just that! Also, you never know what it's going to look like!! The following are the original mono prints: And here are the resulting cards: I know that bling is not usually "CAS", but it really needed the "berries" :) Trees on trees! It's all magic! And now my favorite... The Tag and the Steam were cut from the spill over edges. I just love making my own "paper"! Gold embossing powder (Brutus Monroe) was used on the edges of the trees and the base layer of the Christmas Mug.
