CAS Christmas : Critters!!

I was so busy with CAS Mix Up this month that I almost didn't make the Christmas Critter deadline at CAS Christmas hosted by Barb! These old Penny Black birds are forever my favorites, (I hope they are considered "critters"). I combined them with a die from Alexandra Renke, a little glitter paper, copics, a sparkly gel pen and my new favorite sizzix embossing folder. Super easy, except for trying to decide what color to do the hats --as you can see I went ...with classic red!! Oh yeah, I used a chunky white embossing powder on the hats! used my versa mark pen. Wishing everyone at fabulous holiday season and a Healthy, Happy New Year! --filled with lots of "art time!!" Thanks for looking!

This is my submission for CASual Fridays. The idea was to create a background using a small stamp. I thought it would be fun to try using a sentiment stamp. I wasn't totally happy with the result, but I still like the idea. I still would like to tweek the finishing of the card. Sorry I could not get it turned around :) The stamps are by Karen Lockhart and the sentiment is Rosies Roadshow.

Dashing Through the Snow!

This is my result for the challenge. It took a second attempt. For some reason I wanted birch trees in the background, like a sleigh ride at night...did not work. Oh well, I finally got to use my "dashing through the snow" stamp by memory box. The bells are memory box as well. They are cut out of red card stock and double embossed with silver and distress old olive embossing powder. The music is embossed and then covered with old olive. The Tim Holtz lace die cuts have been sitting in a dish on my desk forever and finally found a home colored with forest moss. I can't wait to see what the next Jingle Belles challenge is.
